OzCots is a charity launched in Australia to support the South African 'non-profit' agency Cotlands, an orphanage for HIV/AIDS.
World AIDS Day 2008
If you would like to participate in World AIDS Day and be part of the 'Doves & Ribbons Day 08', come along to Flinders Way & Palmerston Lane, Manuka on the 30 November 2008 (12-5pm). OzCots raises:
- awareness of HIV/AIDS and the impact it has on women and children in South Africa;
- donations to support the orphans at Cotlands; and
- capacity through leadership programs whereby people are given the opportunity to get first hand experience in what Cotlands does.
Through OzCots, twenty Australian's have visited the Cotlands orphanage. In addition, approximately $160,000 has been raised to support the work of Cotlands.
By raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa and particularly how it affects young children, OzCots hopes to engage the Australian communities in becoming actively involved in supporting Cotlands.
How to get involved:
- Leadership Programs: OzCots runs leadership programs to South Africa to encourage people to become Ambassadors of action through compassion.
